Be J. Birza was born on the 8th of January 1940 and has been working as a visual artist in Deventer.
The Artist prefers working on a cyclical basis or through a series. In a set of book objects he pays homage to various artists.
He tempers with his emotional involvement by using intensely subdued colors. Therefore, his preference goes to earthy tones. The artist often uses acids and other chemicals to recreate an aging process. Chemical reactions cause oxidation, weathering and discoloration and emphasize the suggestion of transience.
Be J. Birza effortlessly accomplishes a reintroduction of the Arte Povera giving its eloquence. He emphasizes that the history of decaying objects stays interesting and technically is not subject to dating or erosion.
