Piotr

Piotr sees his artworks as a record of his past and a trip to undiscovered inner landscapes. He uses powerful images and text to create these images. In 1974 the artist Piotr came from Poland to the Netherlands. What he tries to express in his paintings has everything to do with his childhood in Poland; his Catholic education and passion to show the unknown. Piotr experiences his artwork as a record of his past and a trip to undiscovered inner landscapes. He uses powerful images and text to create these images.

Utopian Ideal

Originally Piotr was a graphic designer. However, the results of his assignments were often too abstract and not suitable for commercial use. Piotr wants to emphasize the absolute unity of everything in the world and that picture is indeed quite utopian. The artist often feels misunderstood and realizes that he sometimes takes the conversation too deep, but the canvas always listens!

Method and Goal

Piotr never has to think about the subject of his paintings, because they occur naturally. It’s like a second nature. Unlike many artists, Piotr first selects a title from where a colour explosion follows. Because of the catchy titles Piotr wants to influence the viewer’s point of view on the artwork. Piotr works from a believe that life should make you happy and therefor his artworks have a positive effect on the viewer. With his art Piotr wants to create a form of freedom. He wants to arouse awareness of the control we can have over our own thoughts and future. The only obstacle can be fear. Fear caused by different movements; religious, political, trends, etc. According to Piotr fear is something that can only exist within yourself.

Don “t let fear stop you from creating your own amazing experience called life!
